Community Grant Program

HOBBS COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM

In 2004, The Foundation established the Hobbs Community Grant Program (HCGP), which provides financial assistance to other non-profits within the Greater Orange Community. A Grant Review committee reviews applications annually, awarding grants to youth, seniors, and other worthwhile programs demonstrating substantial need.

Due to financial constraints, we are not currently accepting Grant Applications.

Recent benefactors of the Community Grants Program have included:

CaliforniaKids

In 2004, a grant of $5,280 was awarded to CaliforniaKids, a non-profit organization providing affordable, preventive and primary health care benefits to children of families who do not qualify for any State healthcare program. The Foundation's grant ensures that health care coverage is provided for uninsured children in Orange.

YWCA of Orange County

The Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to the YWCA of Orange County and its Beverly's House and First Steps Program, providing housing for emancipated foster girls.

Santiago Canyon College
"Buy the Book" Program
A grant of $5000 was awarded by the Foundation to Santiago Canyon College to provide direct assistance to students in an effort to help them overcome the rising cost of textbooks.

Recently, a grant of $5000 was made to Casa Teresa, a temporary home and on-going support program for pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are alone. Counseling and educational programs prepare these women to make loving and informed decisions for themselves and their babies.
