Helping Pay So Kids Can Play
Through KidsPlay, a first-of-its-kind program in the Greater Orange Community, the Community Foundation of Orange opens the doors to youth sports programs for many children whose families, until now, simply could not afford to let them play.
KidsPlay is a passionate commitment to take care of our own - to give where we live. And we need your help.
Right now, many children in our community cannot afford to play in local recreational sports leagues. Many of us often take for granted that our children will participate in these programs, yet the costs of registration fees, uniforms, and equipment can make participation prohibitive for many families. KidsPlay helps families in need meet these growing costs so children can enhance not only their athletic skills, but also their emotional and social development.
The promise of KidsPlay has been enhanced by a $10,000 matching grant from the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation. The Community Foundation is excited to join forces with the Youth Sports Foundation which, for the past 35 years, has raised funds to build and maintain youth sports programs and help scholar-athletes meet the financial challenges of a college education.
