KIDSPLAY™: KidsPlay™ was created by the Community Foundation of Orange to open the doors to youth sports programs for children whose families could not afford to let them play. We have currently expanded our program to include support of our youth who wish to participate in visual and performing arts recreational classes. We have assisted over 1500 youth over the past 12 years.
COSTS: KidsPlay™ will cover registration costs associated with participation in qualifying extracurricular activities. Cost may include 50% of registration fees. An additional amount may be allocated for necessary equipment or supplies. Cost coverage will vary and will be based on matching funds (matching the amount that each family and/or organization has provided). The CFO will reimburse registration costs directly to provider.
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: KidsPlay™ currently supports participants in K-12th grade, who demonstrate financial need by submitting a KidsPlay™ Application (link at top of page on the right side) and supporting documentation. Applicants must reside within Orange Unified School District boundaries or attend school within the boundaries of the Orange Unified School District. Current guidelines state that generally only one scholarship per family will be awarded per twelve- month period.
